Can kitchen units be sprayed in place?

Spraying is not automatically better or faster. It produces a finish that brushwork cannot match on woodwork and large flat areas, but it moves nearly all the labour into masking and preparation. The choice usually comes down to whether the room is empty.

Where spraying clearly wins

On new joinery, kitchen units, doors, staircases and spindles, spraying gives a uniform, brush-mark-free finish that is genuinely different in quality, not just quicker.

It also wins on large uninterrupted areas — an empty property, a new extension, a commercial unit — where masking is minimal and the sprayer covers ground far faster than a roller.

Where brush and roller wins

In an occupied, furnished house with one room being redecorated, masking a spray job can take longer than simply rolling the walls. Cutting in by brush around existing carpets, curtain poles and fitted furniture is faster and far less disruptive.

Preparation does not change

For a single room, spraying rarely saves money once masking, protection and clean-down are counted. Across a whole house between tenancies or before moving in, it usually does, and the finish on the joinery is the part clients notice.
