2026 Rendering Prices in Kent
Silicone
Breathable, self-cleaning, 20–25yr life. Best all-rounder for Kent.
Acrylic
Wide colour range, budget-friendly, best on sunny walls.
Sand & Cement
Traditional painted finish, cheapest up front, needs recoating.
Cork Spray
Insulating, flexible, bridges cracks. Ideal for solid walls.
Ranges include scaffolding, prep, base coat, mesh, top coat and beading. A three-bed semi typically totals £6,000–£12,000 in silicone.
Silicone vs Acrylic — The Straight Answer
Silicone is breathable, which matters in Kent's damp winter climate — it lets moisture from inside the wall escape rather than trapping it behind the coating. It is also hydrophobic on the surface, so rain sheets off and washes dirt with it. Expect 20–25 years before a recoat.
Acrylic is a plastic-based coating. Cheaper, wider colour choice, holds sharp edges well. Downside: less breathable, and in shaded, tree-lined streets it can green up with algae within 5–7 years and need cleaning.
Our default recommendation for Kent: silicone on north- and east-facing walls, silicone-silicate on solid-wall Victorian properties, and acrylic only where budget is the priority and the elevation gets sun.
